so living in southern california, i get an entirely different point of view on the whole immigration debate.
first off, it seems that people equate only mexicans with immigrants lately..and its because that is the biggest population of immigrants in our country, and the biggest problem. my problem with it is that society shouldnt have to alter itself to accomodate people that choose to illegally cross the border, illegally work, and illegally live here.
second, in my opinion (and fuck what you think), i think that one of the requirements to become a citizen in the US should be speaking ENGLISH. im sorry, but i hate driving 2 miles north of where i live and coming into areas of town where all the billboards and all the signs are in spanish. granted, im in my 4th year of spanish class so i know what it says.....but its the fact that here in california, in AMERICA, we're changing things to better help people that shouldnt be here in the first place. and dont go on and tell me "they're not all here illegally" because i know that. but the truth is, most of them are. people that have come here and gone through the process to become citizens of our country are totally fine with me..as long as they pay their taxes and dont fuck up my society (tagging, crime, gangs, all that nonsense bullshit)
third, look up restrictions on american people choosing to move and live in mexico. read all the bullshit that they arent allowed to do, and compare that to what mexicans moving to america can do. anything they want.
yea, sorry if i went off a bit there but i feel that its something that needs to be taken care of. come live in long beach and try to tell me otherwise.
