Well, to be honest I have never snowboarded and I am a pretty poor skiier. I have planned an 8 day trip to whistler with the hopes of learning how to snowboard. Any advice you have would be appreciated (I am so clueless that I am not even sure what to pack / wear etc) Is whistler a good place to learn? should I spend money for lessons or just try try again? Any items that I should bring which I am probably forgetting? Can you recommend some good runs knowing that I am not going to be doing any jumps, I more enjoy just sailing down the mountain with as few people around as possible. How long is the learning curve for someone like myself (fairly athletic soccer player, but I don't surf, skateboard or do anything relavent to snowboarding)? Thanks and I will let you all know how my first trip goes!!!! David

if any of your friends ,board get lessons from them.if not stay on the bunny slopes all day. till you get the hang of it.it doesnt hurt as bad when you fall at slower speeds.
