Has anyone noticed that religions are just widely belived cults. I mean if there was a true religion then there would only be one. The Bible is full of cotradictions. It says in the 1st testament say fear god or you'll go to hell and in the 2nd one it says that you can sin but if you truly repent you can be welcomed into god's good graces. I think it's a load of BULL if you ask me. well here goes, hell is really non existant. no one has more than one religion and every religion believes that if you are not a part of their religion you will go to hell, so every one must go to hell right! wrong. with this belief engrained in your minds, it is safe to say that their cannot be good without evil..... so their is no heaven either. when you die you turn to dust. well decays then turns to dust. a part of the environment. therefore church is meaningless and absurd. jk long live the religious race! just leave me alone!!!!!

Can I ask you where exactly in the Old Testement its says that you must fear God or go to hell?...I dont remember reading that.

I'm as open minded as the next person, but maybe you should actually read the bible and see what it says instead of getting ur information of some secondry source. If you had actually read it you would know that it dosent ever say "Fear god, or be damned forever", i think ur twisting it a little...alot. First of all, it does say that, and you should, and its not at all a contradiction, you simply have not studyed your bible enoughf to comprehend it, and religions generaly did start as cults, except christianity, as christians, we are not suposed to believe that it is a religion, because religion is made of man, and we bleive that it was made of God.

you really need to have someone read you the bible real slow then maybe you'll comprehend what each of the 66 books means because i believe that jesus died for our sins and when i die im either going to heaven or hell and just because u dont go to church everday dont mean youre not a true christian and tonight when i go to bed ill praise god that im on this earth and able to tell you about how i feel this may sound real goody goody but its not meant to just cuz you do certain things doesnt mean that you cant pray to god you dont even have to do it every night just pray and believe and if you have a different religion then thats good for you pray to whoever you call god and believe what you want to believe

just because some people don't think that religion is real and its a waste an w/e i have to say you're wrong. having something to believe in for people with no hope is a big thing and if it helps them feel better if they're depressed to go and pray why not let them? i say let everybody have the their own religion or not if thats what they want.

Ya it may say that in the "NEW TESTAMENT", but where the hell did this new testament come from? How can there be a new testament? you cant just rewrite and the bible and add a few things here and there! It says in the old testiment that when jesus was crucified, it hurt the lords feelings to have his people turn against him. In the old testiment god says; I have been misrepresented by those who don't know me …John 8:41-44 I am not distant and angry, but am the complete expression of love …1 John 4:16 And it is my desire to lavish my love on you …1 John 3:1

There seems to be a lot of people dissing the bible in this topic: So...it says that if you don't believe in God then you will go to hell. Very simple but just stop going after people who like the bible. I personally don't think that it is true. Just 'cause the bible isn't real doesn't mean that you should be a stupid jerk and criticize it by saying that it is a piece of s*** okay? I'm very sure that there's some things that you do that others would have a lot of problems with.....

its not so much that people are dissing the bible as much as what it says in the bible in comparasin to actual things being said. and as far as the "Very simple but just stop going after people who like the bible" comment... it can go both ways... they go after those who dont believe in it... its like that saying "what goes around, comes around"

ok well ur right if u dont believe in god then you dont believe in god and thats ok but i personally do and it is, wether u think so or not zerochik, offensive for someone to tell you that everthing you believe in isn't true.....I mean if you believed that you were the daughter of so and so for all your life and then in the middle of your adolescence they tell you that you're adopted then they have crushed everything you believed was true about your life just like someone crushing someone elses beliefs about religion so sorry there is no need to walk all over someone's beliefs

The soul purpose of religion is to provoke realization, peace and spirituality. This does not mean you must believe all of the miracles the religion has to offer. Most see it as a way to become a better person. Generally people who aren't religious tend to criticize from lack of understanding, as most of you are doing.
