emo kid...what does that mean exactly? Well emo (short for "emotional") is a genre of music which stems from PUNK music...today punk is used to describe many things, but originally, the two offshoots of punk music were hardcore (be tough, don't cry) and emo (be emotional, cry a lot)...today much music is considered emo when, in reality it is pop-punk or emo mixed with rock n roll or punk...but ah labels are stupid...emo is good and that's all we need to know! :o) So...being emo tends to mean that you are emotional and express feelings...

Emo Kids...

*write poetry

*cry alot

*listen to emo music (anything slow, whiney, acoustic, depressing, ect.)

*have shaggy, uncut hair (guys)

*have straight, short bangs (girls)

*if worn back, wear their hair in low ponytails (girls)

*part their hair on the side

*are usually brunette (no such thing as a blonde emo..unless their special)

*drive un-cool cars

*aren't popular...on purpose

*acts calm, like nothing in the world is exciting enough for them

*has some suppressed feelings of lament

*never take depression pills

*are in some cases, vegetarians

*are hopeless romantics

*are passive

*are usually artsy (musically, literature-wise, ect.)

*are over-sensitive

*can write a poem or song about just about anything

*get heartbroken alot

*are straight-edge (meaning good, clean kids...no drugs, alcohol, cussing, ect.)

*care about nothing, really, especially not themselves
